Are u craving Mexican food .came the first day on 4 of July for our vacation and we were hungry so we saw this place thinking it would be okay . But I was wrong . All the food they have is pretty much good just needs more spicy sauce to give it that kick but other then that the food was good and not so pricy. Will come back for more :)

This place is authentic and really good! It's not Tex-mex. Fast service and good food. Very good choice.

The evening started out great, a bunch of us on spring break ventured here after craving Mexican food. The food was mediocre and nothing to praise. Many of us ordered alcoholic drinks which was a complete scam - Strawberry Daiquiris (with Rum) were $9.25, and that was ridiculous. You couldn't even tell between one with alcohol and one without it. That wasn't even the worst part about this gang of thieves. One the members of our party left a $10 bill for a $7 bill (so $3 was ment as tip). They thought that this bill was left as a tip for the entire party (~20 people). So then they assumed that this individual skipped out on his bill. One of the employees grabbed us and explained that we needed to pay this bill. We tried to explain to them what had happen, but instead of them listening to us, they all started conversing in Spanish and insulting us. The best was to explain their behavior without cursing was just plain-out-disgusting. If you decide that you want Mexican food in PCB, make sure you avoid this place.

    I love this place!

Standard Mexican fare here. It's good food at good prices, but nothing you haven't seen at any other Mexican restaurant. I'm pretty sure this place is owned by the same people as "Los Rancheros" at Edgewater and 23rd Street. The food seems to be identical. They have a full bar with decent prices. If you're in the mood for a big Margarita, take a stab at the Big one they offer here. It's a pretty good deal! I've always had good service here and every order has been spot on. If you're in the area you can't go wrong with Guadalajara.

My friend and I are in Panama City Beach for a few days and the manager at our hotel suggested we try this place. What a great suggestion! We walked in and got seated right away. The chips and salsa was really tasty! We ordered the Queso and Gucamole dip. The queso was on point, very good and just a hit of spice. The guacamole was not that fabulous. Looked like they just mashed up avacado with some mayo. They could definitely stand to beef up that recipe. I ordered a Beef Chimichanga and it came with rice, beans, sour cream and guac. The food was delicious and not such a huge portion, which was totally fine since I tend to fill up on chips! My friend ordered the Carnitas and I had a few bites of hers and the pork was just awesome! Super tender and great flavor. One of the best parts was that they had Michelob Ultra on TAP! and the very large glass was only $4.99, such a great price! We paid our bill and went over to their little bar area and had more beer! Can't beat that! I would definitely recommend this place and if I'm ever back here, will go back for sure!

Great service. The menu is well-priced with good selection, but the food is sub standard: the rice was salty, the beans were bland, and the chile riano was comforting but still bland and greasy. Tortilla soup was unlike any in Mexico, more Campbell soup style There was lots of football on multiple TVs, and a number of large parties. Locals seem to enjoy it. Good for large groups. Service 4 stars Food 1.5 stars

We stopped here for lunch on the way to St Andrews State Park. Fairly americanized mexican food, free chips & salsa. Food was fresh but very standard. But service was excellent and food was served hot and very fast. Interior is very spacious but I imagine that during certain times it can get crowded.

This is our local, go-to Mexican joint. The bottled beer is ICY cold. Avoid the draught, it isn't. Their house margarita is very good and if you ask them to add a little Grand Marnier, it's excellent. Try a michelada for a hangover. I always have tacos ala carte, but I've had the nachos and the fajitas and both are very good. Ask for Javier, or Emma. Both are very attentive and fun.

Fairly Americanized "Mexican food".. I tried the "camarones al ajo" (garlic shrimp) , which came with rice, beans, and guac; the shrimp was actually well seasoned and quite good. Above average for this area, although most things on the menu are not very authentic.. Staff are friendly. The interior of the restaurant is fairly nice and comfortable, there are TVs with sports, so seems like a good place to hang out and drink some margaritas or beers.. The "Mexican" food they have is about as good as any you will find in such a nice sitdown restaurant setting in this area, although if you want authentic Mexican tacos go to La Michoacana Latin Market across the bridge in Panama City..

My husband and I were in PCB to do Ironman Florida. It's our tradition to eat Mexican food the night before a race. We thought we'd give Guadalajara a shot since it was within walking distance of our condo. We actually ate here twice during our trip, so they must have done something right. The first time was a Friday evening. I had the carne asada tacos on corn tortillas. My husband had tamales. My parents both got fajitas. A friend of mine ordered one of the vegetarian combos. I thought the tacos could have been a little better. They should have doubled up on the corn tortillas, since they're so flimsy. I also think avocado would have been a good addition to them. I ended up purchasing a side of guacamole to add to them, but fresh avocado would have been better. The rice and beans tasted pretty good. I cleaned my plate, and made quite a dent in the chip basket. The second time around was Monday evening for dinner. We ordered queso dip this time. Yummy... they use the white melting cheese. It's very creamy and rich. Delicious! I tried a chicken burrito. I think there may have been an entire chicken breast inside my burrito. It was a good burrito though. The chicken was tender and moist. Must have been marinated. Lots of flavors in each bite. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. My husband ordered 3 cheese enchiladas with red sauce (he was looking forward to this since Friday's dinner), but the red sauce ended up being brown sauce. It ruined the meal and he was actually disappointed with it. So a word of caution: If you like red sauce, don't order it here. Ask for it on the side if you want to try it.

Went for dinner last night, was starving, service was fast, food wasn't super authentic mexican but it IS a vacation destination, right? Carnitas was tender and well seasoned and I thoroughly enjoyed the beans and chips and salsa.

Maybe it's the pregnancy hormones, but I can't get enough of this place. It's in a little strip mall, but it's a clean place. It's pretty large inside, and the seating is rather comfortable. Family friendly--we have a 2 year old, they provided him with a coloring sheet and a couple crayons (oddly enough, they were both purple). I was happy to see that the high chair actually had straps that worked, unlike some other places. My only complaint was the mocking tone I got from my waiter when I ordered Tres Leches Cake. I think he thought I said something different, because he called it cheesecake. I was like, dude, I don't even speak Spanish and I know what "tres" and "leches" are. Also, my "guacamole salad" had no guacamole, I had to order it separate.

Well, we were staying right behind this establishment and decided to eat within walking distance. We had a party of 20 and after a hour wait, we were told that they could not service us. Wow.

This place is fabulous!!! Ate here last year. The food is fresh and well prepared. The staff has a real personal touch.. I love a place with this sort of ambience. Victor was our server.... He was above awesome!!!! Thanks

It was OK for a change of pace in Panama City. The food was lackluster. I got the k combo - burrito, enchilada, chulupa, and taco. Nothing stood out. I felt sorry for our waiter. Could tell it was his first or second night.

Came here during my vacation to PCB and we had a group of 8 They accommodated the entire group everyone really enjoyed the food. I was not in the mood for steak or chicken. So I ordered a Chile relleno the food was good but my chile relleno was not even relleno by the time I got it it was all over the plate smeared all over my plate so I was left with a plobano and egg covering The chile tasted like it was pre made and just left in the oven to cook I was the last one to get my plate and I had enough rice and beans to feed 2 people And one small poblano pepper with no filling and egg The chips and salsa was good but the salsa could use some seasoning So according to the table the flautas are ok, the steak was amazing The shrimp with garlic were good and the shrimp al diablo were edible but not worth it

Food was okay, a super long wait with a slow day and a killer stomach ache will keep me from returning.

Food was good. Not the best Mexican food I have ever had but for the location the food was good. Price was reasonable and portions were large. Service was also good . Overall we would definitely eat here on future trip.

Good food. But kinda the same food you get at other Mexican restaurants. Not bad for the price though. Drinks are also pretty strong but good for the price

Great Margarita special. 2 for 1 from 5-7 pm. Poblano Shrimp dish was really good. The service was very good too.

Service was slow, but food was hot & tasty! We ordered a chimichanga, beef flautas, kids cheese pizza & kids hot dog! We'll be coming back again!

We came on a Monday night and were seated right away. We had the house margarita and a strawberry daiquiri which were both tasty. We ordered the Chile Colorado extra spicy and cheese enchiladas with steak fajitas. The chile Colorado was AMAZING! The enchiladas not so much. The steak fajitas are to be avoided as they are overlooked and flavorless. HOWEVER if you combine the cheese enchiladas with the Chile Colorado, you're definitely on to something.

This should be rated $. Great food, fantastic price: 2 adult entrees, 3 beers, appetizer, and 3 kids meals for just under $35. Great chips and good salsa. Ask for the homemade salsa for some roasted peppers and some real kick! Really enjoyed the Diablo Camerones (shrimp in spicy red sauce) paired well with the cool guacamole salad and fresh pico. We'll definitely be back!

What a great place!! People are very friendly and professional. The food is excellent. My husband and I are vegetarian - me vegan -and we were able to eat just fine here. We would definitely come back and highly recommend.

We live in Dallas, TX & dine at Mexican restaurants alot. We got chips & salsa to start & we ordered cheese dip, It was good. Wifey ordered Michelada w DosX, pretty good too, they use the Mexican recipe here, i prefer it a little more spicy. We ordered a Carne Asada and Fajitas Tejanas. The Carne Asada meat is delicious, so is the rice/beans. The fajitas come with Beef/Chicken/Shrimp over a bed of well grilled onions & bell peppers, rice & beans, yumm! Dessert - Mexican churros! Yumolicious! Love it here!! A++

Really good food! Great service! And we were there 30 mins before close. :) Went back a second time and was still just as good and lunch portions were huge!

This was the saving grace meal of our trip to PCB. Up until our visit to Guadalajara, our dining experiences had really been slacking. Guadalarajas was recommended to us by a Mexican employee working at the hotel we stayed at. So, with that said we decided to venture there for our last dinner in PCB. This spot is not like the other tourist traps along Front Beach Rd. We saw/heard quite a few locals, which is usually a good sign. The food was super fresh and tasty. I had the chicken burrito and my husband has the fajitas. The chips and salsa were also quite addictive. Best of all were the margaritas. None of this pre-mixed stuff. It was fresh made at the bar by our waiter. I guess they pull double duty here. Service was very pleasant and overall a very enjoyable experience.

Worst service I've had. I've been sick at my stomach since I ate there night before last. I will not go back

I had a good time here. Grey customer service... Great food and the presentation of the food was great... Came here for dinner 2 times so far and I would definitely come back every time I'm on here in PCB...

  • Alice B.

This place used to be great. We waited over an hour and never received our food-we finally just left. No one working there apologized or even explained the wait. Service was terrible.

    (1)
  • Nereyda D.

We had steak and shrimp fajitas and were extremely disappointed. I'm not sure if it was because we are used to food with a lot of flavor (Cuban and Jamaican) but we found the food very bland even after adding lemon juice and salt. The meat was drowning in vegetables and there was way too many slices of tomatoes... Something we haven't really seen cooked with fajitas and we always order fajitas when doing Mexican. If I had to guess the cook everything in a big pot and then throw it on the skillet for presentation which takes away from the grilled taste and texture. The server was wonderful and their peach margarita was delicious hence the 2 stars but unless we were going specifically for drinks, chips and salsa we would not return.

  • Shanno W.

The food was great. The enchiladas rancheras was great. The poblano shrimp were good as well. And relatively inexpensive. Unfortunately, the service was unreal. Our server must have been on vacation in his head, because we had to ask him twice for everything. Water, extra napkins, to go boxes, and on top of that, we finished dinner and waited for 30 minutes to get the check! Then the waiter couldn't remember what we had ordered. We think he just guessed at the final total. Overall, i would probably only order "to go" from here. Because the service ruined the entire dining experience

  • Jennifer F.

We chose this place on vacation because of its proximity to where we are staying...we've been here 3 times this week and have not been disappointed. Great food and fast service. They have a few vegetarian options too...you can also get a hotter house salsa if you prefer! Very yummy. Check it out!

Nice off the beaten path spot. Good inside, not too loud. Food was great, price was very reasonable.

  • Pat R.

This place is fantastic. The service is second to none. The wait staff are all friendly and helpful. Get the Camarones A La Publana. The cheese sauce does not overpower the shrimp or the cheese. Portion sizes are huge and what's more the prices are very, very reasonable especially for tourist town food. This is a definite go-to place while in Panama City.

  • Doug S.

We were a little worried about this place because of some of the reviews. We had great food and service. Everything had good flavor and a huge selection for our picky group. We will be back when we return to Panama City.

Kind of hard to find, but the food is good. Its quiet, they greet you with chips and salsa. The chips and salsa are delicious. Seems family or solo oriented. Food came relatively fast, it was pretty good. Rice was bland. Service was pretty good and fast. Overall a pretty average experience.

  • Phil B.

We haven't found too many good Mexican restaurants in PCB, but this one didn't leave us disappointed. We ordered the chicken chimichanga, the combination plate and the queso dip. The service was good and the meal satisfied our craving for Mexican food - mission accomplished!

Mexican food in PCB. Yep it exists. This place really gave me a fix for a taste of home after a week in the east. The chips and salsa hit the table as soon as we did. The salsa is tasty but not as spicy as I am used to. I understand that this is an intranational city, and many people are capsaicin weenies, but this is a Mexican restaurant; come on, turn up the heat. I ordered the Guadalajara Plate. It was awesome. Thanks to the chile relleno, I got my spice fix. Their chile con queso is excellent too. Make sure to go here. Muy Wayne-o's es no bueno.

Yummy....we were from out of town and love Mexican. This place was great! Salsa perfect and chicken fajitas were good. Margarita was way too strong though.

Great mexican food, awesome and delicious vegetarian choices. And the margharitas! Delicious! Very good service! We live close by and go there as often as possible.

I'm a PCB local and this is where we go to get a margarita! Super yum! Gets kind of busy with tourists but all in all it's awesome!

  • Pamela R.

Five stars may be a bit of an exaggeration but after trying several Mexican places in PCB this is the best. We were so glad to finally find a place that actually used some seasoning and spices! The chips and salsa are good. I had a combo plate with a taco and enchilada and enjoyed everything. My husband had the steak fajitas and he gave them a thumbs up. The prices were reasonable. We moved here in the spring so this will be our go-to Mexican restaurant.

    (5)
  • Kyle K.

This restaurant had excellent service. There was no wait time to be seated for us and the only negative thing I really have for the restaurant was the refried beans were a little bland for my taste but the seasoning on the chicken was amazing! And the salsa was amongst some of the better salsa I've had, it's a chunkier salsa if that's what your into. I had read previous reviews and they had said this was where the locals go for margaritas and I can attest this place did have great margaritas.

    (5)
  • Steve K.

Guadalajara offers some decent Gringo-style Mexican food, with good top shelf (meaning overpriced) margaritas Their salsa is ok but not great, the chili colorado was a bit dry with not enough sauce on it, and the enchiladas were decent. Our server was friendly and efficient, and overall, it's a decent place to grab a bite

    (3)
  • Reid S.

Beware spring breakers: three of us order small margaritas. When we got them we were surprised by the size and told the waiter that. Long story short they made us pay for the medium when we ordered the small. The food was good but not worth them screwing us over.

  • Landon S.

Best fajitas we have ever had! Service was great both times we ate there. Awesome price and better value!

Ok so am from Texas were I get authentic mexican food in some places. I have been away from home for 7 days I needed a fix. I wasn't expecting much just because its a mexican restaurant in Florida. We arrived, friendly host and seated quickly. They bought us drinks and chips rather quickly took our order fast. Here's where it fell apart. From the time we ordered it took 25 minutes for our meal to come out. No one ever came to refill our tea. I had to get up and basically go to the back to have someone serve me tea. Food was ok nothing to brag about. I had shrimp fajitas which were ok. Beans and rice were good . After bringing us out plates server never came back. Me and my family were done for 15 min conversing with the family next to us about the short handed staff. Tables around us had not been picked up since we got there. We got frustrated I had to find our server to get our ticket. You pay up front at the register and still had to wait 5 min for some one to tend to us. All in all we spent 1 1/2 hours for dinner that's counting we didn't have a wait at all! If you don't mind the wait this is a ok place to get a mexican food fix. If not find somewhere else. I won't be coming back

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
